Soil Test Sampling

As part of Cypress Creek UD water and sewer system rehabilitation, there will be soil test sampling going on around Norchester this weekend, Saturday (9/14) and Sunday (9/15). Sampling will be performed by Geotech Engineering at various locations in the subdivision. One or more trucks will be operating both days.

Work will require isolated lane closure to accommodate the vehicle performing the proposed work. This work should have little effect on traffic. However, please drive with caution.

Update: Texas Pride Disposal Services

Texas Pride Disposal began trash and recycling service to our district on March 1st. The Cypress Creek Board of Directors are aware of, and are addressing, multiple customer service concerns. Service concerns include (but are not limited to): blocking driveways with collected trash, failure to return homeowner trash cans to back door locations, failure to pick up large trash items and poor response (or no response) to calls and email complaints.

Upon the request of Glenn Land, President of CCUD District, a manager from Texas Pride Disposal Services attended the March 14th board meeting to review complaints and expectation of services. Shortly after the meeting, a new working crew was brought in to replace one of the original crews. Also, Texas Pride is currently updating their phone system.

While some areas in the CCUD reportedly are receiving good service from Texas Pride, there are still some ongoing issues that the CCUD Board is addressing with the owner and management of the company.

If you have a problem or concern with trash/recycle pick up, please continue to report these by either calling the company at 281-342-8178 or sending an email to service@texaspridedisposal.com. You may also communicate with your CCUD Board of Directors at https://www.cycreekud.com/contact but this communication should be in addition to reporting directly to Texas Pride Disposal using the contact information provided above.

Change in Trash Service

Effective Saturday, March 2nd, CCUD will have a new contract for trash service from Texas Pride Disposal. CCUD homeowners should see very little change in trash and recycling services except the name on the trucks. Back door/gate trash pick up (that is visible from the street) will remain on Wednesdays and Saturdays with recycling on Saturday. A plus feature with Texas Pride will be heavy trash pick up every service day instead of just once per week.

While Waste Management provided excellent service to our communities, especially during post-Harvey cleanup, the company announced a few months ago that they will be changing to automated, curb-side pick-up only. The CCUD Board began reviewing other options for automated and traditional manual pick up while considering the needs of our neighborhoods. The Board then obtained bids for both types of service from 4 companies.

Texas Pride Disposal was chosen by the Board not only for their good reputation but also for having a new fleet of trucks, heavy trash pick up every service day and real people answering customer service calls.

They also sourced more affordable and local recycling options to keep costs down.

Details on all services from Texas Pride Disposal will be included in this month’s water bill and also is available on this website, click here.

Sewer and Garbage Portion of Water Bill

The sewer and garbage portion of the water bill has been a flat rate of $47.05 per month. This also includes recycling pickup, once per week.
The garbage contract has changed from Waste Management to Texas Pride  Disposal,  as  back  door  service  (but  not  behind  a  gate)  will  continue. Therefore, effective with the next water bill, the base rate for  sewer  charges,  including  garbage  collection,  has  increased  $0.15  from $47.05 to $47.20.

We hope to hear of exceptionally good services provided by Texas Pride Disposal’s garbage crew.

North Harris County Regional Water Authority

Effective  April  1st,  the  North  Harris  County  Regional  Water  Authority  (NHCRWA) will be raising the rates that it charges the Cypress Creek Utility District (the District). Accordingly, the District is passing through this rate increase, and therefore the NHCRWA charge on your water bill will increase from $3.74 to $4.24 per 1,000 gallons of water consumed on your water bill. Currently the average monthly residential NHCRWA bill is about $20.16 and the new rate structure it will be about $22.86, a $2.70 increase.
