Storm Water Inflow and Infiltration into Sanitary Sewer – Cypress Creek UD

Regarding the recent issues with the storm water inflow and possible ground water infiltration into the sanitary sewer system, we feel it would benefit Cypress Creek Utility District and its residents to understand the sources of storm water entering the sanitary sewer system and what residents can do to help reduce storm water from entering the sanitary sewer system.

  1. Primary sources for stormwater inflow include residential sewer cleanout caps that have either been removed or damaged by mowers, manholes that become submerged, and cross connections with the storm sewer system. Sources of groundwater infiltration include cracks in sewer pipes and sewer manholes.
  2. We ask residents to ensure that their cleanout caps are installed properly to prevent storm water from entering the sanitary sewer system.

Texas Pride Update

Texas Pride sent an update this morning about delayed/missed trash pick up yesterday. They have been running behind on about 20 routes a day due to the high volume of trash as well as delays and suspensions put in place with the freeze Friday and Saturday. To catch up, they are rolling a handful of Wednesday routes to Saturday so they can get back on track.

Therefore, the next trash pick up for the residents in the Cypress Creek Utility District will be Saturday, December 31st.

Texas Pride did confirm they intend to pick up recycle on the same day. However, due to the expected high volume of recycle and trash, there may be further delays in pickup (as there was last weekend).

Texas Pride apologized for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your feedback as well as your patience in this situation.
